But I personally swap in the PMV version, because it's more entertaining.

I've also been toying with the idea of adding the announcer back into the audio.

Not sure about this one - I usually try to avoid PMV featuring too much text (either karaoke, or typography); visuals conflict with the USDX UI.

Yeah, I completely understand that...

I use it because I prefer to have some type of video instead of a static image.

I'd offer to try and re-create the video using episode clips, but my video editing software is rather dated.  Maybe 12 years old now... if I can even find the CD.
It's been a long time since I did any video work.

I don't suppose you know of a freebie video editor out there that can get the job done... do ya?

Depends on how long this would take (and I kinda like the current song intro with the announcer better than the PMV's one).

Well... everything is sync'd up, so you can mix and match to the audio/video combination you want. 

I personally do like the start of the original video...  It DOES have nice graphics, and gives author credit.

As for time to make a new version... that would depend on how quickly I can locate a good, free video editor.

I seriously don't think I'd have something ready in time for release though.   :'(

You can use Performous. It has a way of tracking input on freestyle notes, similar to Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

the ting i want to know is... Do i just copy the song and put it in the files in Performous or does it automatically find it?

It doesn't, but all games have the option to specify your song folder, so you can select your Ultrastar folder for Performous as well. Saves a bit of hard drive space.
